This is a precious moment... as I am typing my daughter is sleeping without anyone holding her! I have been able to vacum, do laundry, and prep dinner for my wonderful husband who has been cooking for me for 6 weeks! I am in disbelief- she will probably wake at any moment so I had better make this short and continue with my to do list!

Update
We have a Glow Worm on our hands! Emma has Jaundice, so instead of making us re-admit her to the hospital, her doctor prescribed this fancy blanket that acts the same as the hospital treatment so we can keep her home with us! Other than that everyone is doing great! Thank to all for the well wishes and support!

Baby Emma
The wait is finally over! Baby Emma Jean Westmoreland arrived at 6:20 AM on 12/4/09. It definately wasn't an easy journey but wer'e glad to say that one has ended (pregnancy) and another has started (here comes parenthood!).
The end of the pregnancy:
Thursday, 12/3, we came to the hospital at 4:30 in the morning because Ericka's water broke at 3:20 AM-she was scheduled to be in later that day for some routine appointments but Emma had other plans. 26 hours later, she was in our arms at 6:20. She is 20 inches long, 6 lbs 15 oz, and the most beautiful baby ever (maybe we're a little biased but wer'e allowed!).

Overwhelmed
There has been a huge change of plans! We now have an official induction date set for December 4th... I know, it's only two days earlier than the original due date, but there's something about being told you will have this baby on this day that is freaking me out, just a bit (not to mention it totally goes against the birth plan Bill and I had envisioned for our experience of bringing Emma into the world) So, because chronic hypertension and pregnancy don't mix, I am pretty much ordered to bed rest. I think I just might go crazy! I know that my midwife has my family's well-being at the forefront of her purpose for my care so I am VERY grateful for that. Bill has totally taken charge of making me obey doctors orders! I have to say I have one Amazing husband who not only helped my mom with Thanksgiving dinner, but did all dishes by himself (because he wouldn't let anyone help), is putting up Christmas lights by himself, and is going to get a Christmas tree by himself, just to ensure that I will stay put this last week of pregnancy... I am so Blessed to have such a special man for my husband! I Love you Bill! We are so excited to FINALLY have Emma Jean join us, she's the light at the end of the tunnel!
